CONTACT

PTFE FEP Film Hot Melt Tape is a two-layer PTFE hot melt composite film, consisting of a pure white PTFE film and a modified transparent FEP film directly laminated together, with no adhesive or third-layer medium in between. The two layers are fused into one body through high-temperature hot pressing, maintaining structural purity without compromising temperature resistance. During use, heat to the FEP melting temperature, and the transparent FEP layer melts and flows, forming a strong chemical bond with the substrate surface and creating a permanent bond after cooling.

The key feature is flexible total thickness customization: by adjusting the PTFE film thickness specification, the finished total thickness can be controlled within 0.09mm to 0.5mm, meeting the thermal, insulation, and corrosion resistance requirements of different working conditions.

Working Principle:

• PTFE top layer: Provides low surface energy, non-stick properties, chemical corrosion resistance, and wide temperature range performance

• FEP bottom layer: Modified FEP has a relatively low melting temperature (approx. 260~280℃). When heated, it melts and wets the substrate surface, forming a strong bond after cooling and crystallization

• No adhesive layer advantage: Eliminates adhesive aging, carbonization, and harmful substance release at high temperatures. No delamination or residue even after long-term use

Key Features

1. Pure two-layer structure, no adhesive medium: PTFE + FEP directly hot-pressed, no third-layer adhesive, temperature performance fully preserved, no aging or delamination over long-term use

2. White PTFE surface, excellent performance: The white PTFE surface retains all advantages of PTFE — non-stick, heat-resistant, corrosion-proof, insulating, low friction

3. Transparent FEP surface, hot melt self-adhesive: Modified FEP surface melts on heating, no additional adhesive needed, easy application with reliable bond strength

4. Flexible thickness adjustment: Total thickness adjusted by changing PTFE film gauge, customizable within 0.09~0.5mm

5. Wide temperature range: Long-term service temperature -200℃ ~ 200℃ (FEP layer); PTFE surface withstands short-term 260℃

6. Strong chemical inertness: Resistant to acids, alkalis, organic solvents, and most chemical media; suitable for highly corrosive environments

7. Excellent insulation: High dielectric strength, high-temperature electrical insulation for electrical and electronic applications

8. Non-stick surface, easy to clean: PTFE surface does not stick to resins, adhesives, or inks; easy release and cleaning

Application:

1. Wire & Cable Insulation Coating

Used as insulation layer for high-temperature wires, heating cables, and thermocouple wires. The FEP side heat-melts and tightly coats the conductor, while the PTFE side provides heat-resistant insulation and corrosion protection. Withstands -200℃ low temperature and 200℃ long-term high temperature.

2. Film Heat Sealing & Bag Welding

Used as heat seal layer for composite films, and for sealing aluminum-plastic bags / shielding bags. The FEP layer serves as a hot melt bonding medium, fusing with same or dissimilar materials under heat and pressure, providing a strong, heat-resistant, corrosion-proof seal.

3. Non-stick Release Liner

Applied on molds, hot plates, and conveyor belts as a non-stick release layer. The PTFE surface does not stick to resins, rubber, plastics, or food, enabling clean release with no residue and repeated reuse.

4. Chemical Corrosion Lining

Applied as corrosion-resistant lining on the inner walls of reactors, pipes, storage tanks, and ventilation equipment. The FEP side heat-bonds to metal or concrete surfaces, while the PTFE side contacts corrosive media, resisting acids, alkalis, and solvents.

5. Photovoltaics & New Energy

Used in PV module backsheets, lithium battery packaging, and fuel cell sealing. Provides insulation, weather resistance, and electrolyte corrosion protection. Thickness customizable for lightweight product requirements.

6. Food & Medical

Food-contact compliant grades are used for food baking belts, dehydration equipment liners, and medical equipment heat-resistant barriers. Non-stick, non-toxic, easy to clean, and withstands high-temperature sterilization.
